They do run hot. I`m convinced that many of the early failures were in large part due to improper cooling. Sure, the machine throws a mettriccke arsetonne of heat (whose units are in some kilokelvin pascals per cubic decameter or something), but if you keep the heated air tucked tightly around the console, yes, it is going to get hot. One could argue that better heat managemment on Microsoft`s part couldn`t hurt, and I agree, but when I (frequently) smash my finger with my hammer I don`t blame Lowe`s for not wrapping it in multiple layers of bubble wrap.
I experimented with “effects”, which most people might consider a block of dark color whose opacity is not 100%. I was proud of it, no matter how trivial most people think it would be. I started getting the hang of the software at this point…which was good, because I was spending a very long time on every comic. Now I was getting work done in a reasonable amount of time, leaving me plenty of time to experiment. That would pay dividends in quality, and continues to do so to this day.
Well, come on. The top XBox 360 system? As a surprise present? What would
you
think?
Witness the introduction of the decorated callouts. Notice that they will be visually separated from the word bubbles for awhile. The simple process of joining them took me a while to figure out.
I really like this one. Truth is stranger than fiction, and though this isn`t quite what happened I didn`t exactly have to stretch things a whole lot. I think this happens to be funnier, of course, but I would…I penned it. I also started to really get a hand on the digitizing process in this one. I still consider myself quite the n00b, because I am, but there are several things I like about the art in this comic…even if it is still quite rough.
I also was still insisting on pupils here, something which I quickly stopped. I find it too distracting, and that`s funny, because I originally thought it would be too distracting
without
pupils.
First comic ever…published on the Internet. Also, pretty lame. I hadn`t “standardized” my final size, the look, digitizing procedures, etc. I`m still not very happy with the results, but it is what it is and I`m going to let it stand for now. That way, I can see how much I`ve learned about the process so far. I do happen to find the idea really funny, so I feel it`s a pretty good first shot.
