Here`s an example of creative editing in action. I notice that I always draw characterss with very small mugs. Comically small, you might say. I was thinking of just drawing his mug a lot larger the next time I had to, but then I said to myself, “Comically small…In a comic…”. At that point, this comic pretty much wrote itself.

So, I took a major error and made it a comic punch line. I think that`s the big secret of comic strip artists: Turn your mess-ups in to comic exaggerations. I also gave the guy on the right a short and wide tie, though it`s not as dramatic as the mug and it was intentional.
