I am often hard on my artwork. It is not a lack of appreciation for the good parts, but a careful scrutiny of the bad parts. I dissect the lines, the colors, the paint strokes. I routinely examine my techniques and look for improvements, both in quality and efficiency, and I tear in to any comic artist how-to I find online. Method videos fascinate me. It`s not that I think I suck and need to quit: It`s that I know I need to constantly improve, and good enough is only good enough for now. Great is the enemy of good, but complacency is the enemy of study. I hear Chairman Mao said that. Regardless, I always want to improve. I don`t have to be great today (obviously), but “good enough” will be a higher bar down the road, so I try to prepare. Any time you see something you`d like to comment on, positive or negative, please feel free (but be constructive, or you`re no help).
