I figured out why last strip was short: It was an error in cutting my paper. Oops. Oh, well.
I never get tired of how these guys rationalize things. They’re really good at finding blame elsewhere. If they allowed a bad product to get out there, it’s because people asked for it.
Really, can you blame them? As big shareholders in Sonny Records (yes, a huge conflict of interest) they’re just looking for profits to go up. Every indulgence we allow ourselves, some marketer somewhere is watching. If there’s a market, there’s bound to be products and salesmen. Every time you watch a reality show? They know. Well, they don’t know, really, but they statistically model. They know in a the-Force-hey-a-planet-just-blew-up-maybe feeling, not in a Big Brother, point of fact way.
It’s a rare person who is a true individual, and odds are they aren’t reading comics on the web. We as a society have done this to ourselves.
