Ahh, Cassandra: given the gift of prophecy coupled with the disbelief of all who hear it. I had more to say at one point, but it’s slipped my mind.
In case you’re wondering, yes, that’s the female main character in the chair. You may not recognize her with the short hair. It’s a choice I made to fit the style of the movie. I also had given her earrings in the pencils, but they didn’t make it through to inks or color. I’m just forgetful at times.
I’m not too happy with how this one turned out, but I stuck with it and pushed it out anyway. It’s been a month since my last update, and I just couldn’t wait any longer. My tools showed their lack of use through obstinacy, and though I’ve been drawing I haven’t been practicing my characters and everyone’s kinda off-model. You know, off enough that they just don’t look right, but not too off to look ridiculous. That “uncanny valley” discrepancy that makes them look alien to me.
All things considered, though, I’m glad I made myself power through and put up what I had. This comic is, after all, a big canvas. It was always intended for practice. An update, even a poor one, is better than none at all.
