An unexpected coup! This story is pretty much wrapped up.
The boss-lady is Sophia. She’s the director of the library system at which Mary and Joelle work. She’s also very perceptive, though perhaps a bit slow to act. She knows a bit more than she lets on. I often ask myself, “how crazy should I let this comic get?” I tend to hold back and lean on a comical realism in many cases, as the real world is funny enough. Sometimes, though, my mind goes on a fantastic bender and I just want to reach beyond the stars. Comic realism is hard enough to tell a story in at my pace, though, so I tend to scale down simply to make headway.
When I retire, telling all these stories in pictures will be one heck of a hobby. You know, provided the comics are still around.
